IW Capital Announces £3.3m Follow-On Investment into Impact Recycling

Our portfolio company, Transcend Packaging Ltd, has been named a finalist in the 2025 Environmental Packaging Awards in the category Packaging Projects – Food on the Go: Cups.

Earlier this year, Transcend Packaging announced the launch of its innovative PE-free (plastic lining-free) paper cup, a breakthrough in sustainable packaging. By replacing the traditional plastic lining with a mineral-based coating, the new design delivers the same premium customer experience while being certified home compostable and widely recyclable.

This pioneering cup, designed and manufactured at Transcend’s site in Ystrad Mynach, Wales, marks the first large-scale introduction of this emerging technology applied to coffee cups. Already adopted by Starbucks EMEA across Europe, it represents a scalable and commercially viable solution to one of the packaging industry’s most pressing sustainability challenges.

The Environmental Packaging Awards ceremony will take place at the Kia Oval Cricket Ground on 24 June, celebrating innovation and progress across the sector.
