IW Capital Leads €12 Million Series A Funding Round into QuantrolOx

IW Capital is delighted to announce that it has led a €12 million Series A funding round into QuantrolOx, alongside the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund.

QuantrolOx, a spin-out from the University of Oxford, has developed Quantum EDGE, a machine learning platform that automates the calibration, tuning and control of quantum computers across different hardware systems.

QuantrolOx, a spin-out from the University of Oxford, has built Quantum EDGE, a machine learning platform that automates the calibration, tuning and control of quantum computers, on any hardware. Every quantum computer has to be tuned before it can do useful work, and demand for the specialists who do it is outpacing supply. QuantrolOx solves this challenge by automating the process.

The latest investment will support QuantrolOx’s commercial growth and expansion into North America, following the opening of its Berkeley office and the establishment of a five-year partnership with UC Berkeley.

The company is already expanding its international presence across three continents, with its technology supporting laboratories at UC Berkeley and Academia Sinica in Taiwan, alongside the recent launch of Q-Hub in partnership with MAHE in India.

The round comes as quantum computing passes $1bn in annual revenue, a commercial tipping point for the industry.

Huge congratulations to our Investment Director Charlie Lyon Carroll, QuantrolOx Co-Founder & CEO Vishal Chatrath, and the entire QuantrolOx team.

We’re proud to be backing QuantrolOx as it builds the control layer every quantum computer runs on, and look forward to supporting its next chapter.
